I do not know someone who loves statues.

During the 1600 years of Christianity, most people could neither read nor write. Every window and a statue in the medieval church in history. Illiterate people can see pictures of the stained glass windows in churches and historical understanding. So not only were the statues and old paintings and respectful, but they were also very functional. She told the story of the Bible and the pastor could point during his sermons. Statues and stained glass windows were, for them, teaching aids and reminders. When we walk in a traditional sanctuary and we will see the statues, each holding their sacred symbol. A well-formed Christian can learn from the stories of the saints and to transfer their children, even ifI could not read. This also explains the traditional shape of the window: an image in the center surrounded by a large number of small fields. With proper explanation, you can learn to tell the story of we, John the Baptist, and all-important link in the life of Christ. These images may not be worshiped, wrong, but memories of the history of salvation.

There is a difference between admiration of the beauty and message of the statue, namely, to treat it as a god. Any Catholic would say that our worship of God and God alone - does not deserve a statue.

And any Catholic who knows what the Church teaches, never say anything or anyone except * * worship God. EVER.

I do not know who or worship statues of worship. I know some churches have statues of them as a form of religious art and inspiration. I know people who are inspired to pray to God, in the contemplation of works of art. I think the pastor and the congregation was shocked and horrified when someone really ask a statue.

We should never worship a statue. A statue is not God. But we must not forget that the statues of God and the saints.

The statues of Mary and the saints to remind us of people who are totally committed to God's will. They lived a holy life and gave everything. Examples are the true followers of God. We can use the person making the statue honors, but not the object itself.

A statue of Christ is to us a visual. As humans, we are not only spirit, but flesh and spiritual beings. We are visual benefits of using our senses to Christ and his sacrifice to meditate. If you are helping a crucifix or a statue to focus our thoughts.

None of this is the worship of an object that is expressly forbidden. Anything can be an idol ... EDIhas a material object, like a car, a person as a spouse or children, money, sex, etc., everything that can be before God is an idol. It was hung on the statues.

Sorry, but I do not agree with several posters have, because that's what they say is not Biblical
"Okay, that statues of Jesus, Mary and the saints?
It's not fair ... what they do.
The Bible says that the Ten Commandments are not for them.
And an image is carved ......
"A captured image or representation of all that is in heaven and honored on earth.

"Graven" Shape, sculptures, prints, not something in fashion for men, man, what he has to live. "

"Revered: Something that has the respect and reverence"

VR: "a deep respect for something or someone as respected, respect"

God said: "I am a jealous GDid you have other gods before me "
Christians, however, are all warned by the Bible.

Wolfeblayde .... We are not even count them among us.
No one really knows what Jesus, Mary or
Saints ideas seem, it is also human.
How can something to admire, if you have no idea what they really have?
But is that what you choose.
